Our founder, Tamara Clary, a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a BFA and an Art Education Certification from Meredith College, started her journey as an art teacher. She brought creativity to life for students across Wake County Public Schools, Mecklenburg County Public Schools, and Charlottesville City Public Schools.
In the late 90s, Tamara left teaching and opened TC Artworks, Inc., focusing on creating stunning decorative finishes on ceilings, walls, floors, and cabinetry for residential and commercial clients. As a commercial interior designer and lead construction manager, Tamara transformed over 53 commercial spaces. Her work, renowned for its artistic flair, was featured on the Extreme Makeover TV Show, American Biker TV Show, and numerous local newspapers and magazines.
For over a decade, she also served as the lead decorative finisher for THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of their Raleigh, Durham, and Charlotte restaurants.
In 2015, Tamara merged her love for art and education, opening a full-time track out camp and art school. Specializing in art camps, adult art classes, workshops, and artist retreats, she created a vibrant community of creativity and learning
2020 presented a significant challenge. After 30 years in business, TC ARTWORKS had to close its doors due to the global pandemic. However, Tamara’s passion for art education remained undimmed
In the summer of 2021, Tamara returned to Raleigh, reopening her art school & track out camp as Tamara Clary Studio, LLC in North Raleigh, NC. Today, that initiative has evolved into Creating My Art, a franchise brand that embodies Tamara’s vision and passion.
Tamara Clary and her dedicated team now focus on franchise development, crafting enriching curriculums, and fostering new programs across the Creating My Art franchise. Her journey serves as a testament to the power of passion, resilience, and creativity
